Tough Business & The Outfit (1973)

The official announcement from Arrow Video has been making the rounds for a while now, but we're delighted to say we've got a featurette on their upcoming Blu-ray release of The Outfit (1973)! It was an honor to be approached by the folks at Arrow in the first place, but it's particularly incredible to see our names up there with the many talented & creative individuals who have continuously kept both Stark's legacy and the crime genre alive with essays, discussions, and sheer passion for many years now.
It's a first for us, and we certainly hope the first of many, but we're proud to see our little project grow like this. Tough Business started out as a way to create a space for the Parker fans that don't fit within Stark's traditional audience, the outsiders, and our video essay — Tapping into the Outsider — defines what that quality means within Parker as a character both in the novels and as played by the brilliant Robert Duvall.

Donald Westlake called the film "one movie made from a Stark book that got the feeling right. That movie is done flat, just like the books," in an interview featured in Backstory 4: Interviews with Screenwriters of the 1970s and 1980s, and it was reportedly his favorite Parker adaptation. With that in mind, we couldn't be more happy to have played some small part in this re-release from Arrow!
More information can be found on the official Arrow Video website. The Outfit Blu-ray can also be purchased at HMV in the UK, and Unobstructed View in Canada.
